Abstract |
We propose spectroscopic observations of the pre-main sequence stars born in Lynds 1340, a molecular cloud forming low and intermediate mass stars, but no high mass stars. The data will allow us to determine the spectral types of the observed stars, and together with photometric data available in the 2MASS All Sky Catalog, to find ther masses and ages. The results, combined with molecular data available for L1340, will be useful in studying the history of star formation of the region, whose star forming properties represent a transition between Taurus and Orion. | $
