Abstract |
This program is to measure redshifts for complete sample of galaxy clusters serendipitously detected in ROSAT X-ray observations. This 400 square degrees survey is a direct extension of our highly successful CfA-ROSAT 106 saure degrees survey. This survey will produce a sample of 40-50 clusters at z=0.4-0.7 in the mass range identical to that for the 50 richest clusters within z < 0.1 and thus will make possible a direct comparison of the local and distant cluster populations. The goal of this project is to observe lower-redshift members of the 400 square degrees survey which is necessary for selecting a complete sample at high redshifts. |
